FAQs

What is happening?

  • Anglicare Sydney and Infinite Care are coming together to serve more older Australians.
  • Anglicare Sydney has entered into an agreement to acquire Infinite Care, which includes Infinite Care’s in progress acquisition of Autumn Aged Care, with completion expected around [March 2026].
  • This will increase total Residential Aged Care operations to ~5,300 beds, 47 homes and 7,400 staff operating across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA –which will be the 7th largest Residential Aged Care provider in Australia.
  • This will create one of the leading national Christian for-purpose residential aged care providers.
  • Life-enriching care can be provided for more older Australians and new opportunities afforded for staff by combining the strengths and learnings from both organisations to shape the future of aged care.
  • Together we will deliver whole-of-person care for residents to feel valued, loved and respected.
  • Chaplaincy and pastoral care will be expanded, palliative care capability will receive greater investment, and best practice will be shared to provide care that is better than anyone has yet imagined.
  • At a time of critical need for aged care capacity, this agreement will bring new beds to market, meaning new homes for more people, with development opportunities across the portfolio.
  • A commitment to caring for older Australians is what unites us.

Who is the provider being acquired?

  • Infinite Care: 19 residential aged care homes across QLD, NSW, VIC and SA.
  • Autumn Aged Care: 4 homes in VIC.

When does Anglicare officially take over operations?

  • Completion of the agreement (day one of our combined operations) is expected around [March] 2026.
  • There will be a period of transition that will occur through 2026 and beyond, with regular updates and minimal disruption to residents and staff.

What are the benefits for staff?

  • With a doubled, national portfolio of homes, together we can provide staff with more career opportunities than today, with better mobility across more locations, and benefiting from greater investment in learning and development, and other benefits including access to fitness passport.
  • As a not-for-profit, staff will be able to access attractive salary packaging benefits. Salary packaging allows you to pay for certain everyday expenses — like your mortgage or rent, groceries, insurance, and even meals — using your pre-tax income. This reduces the amount of tax you pay and increases the amount you take home each pay cycle. The tax free cap for charities and not-for-profit organisations is $15,900.
  • We’ll learn from each other and invest in our capabilities, particularly in palliative care, given our shared commitment to excellence in aged care.
  • Staff will be supported by an expanded chaplaincy and pastoral care network, providing emotional, spiritual and wellbeing care.
  • All staff will be part of a stronger future. As a much larger residential care operator stronger financial performance will be achieved to be able to invest in systems, people, innovate in resident care and continue to grow.

How will this affect residents and families?

  • Resident care remains the top priority, and there is no change to the consistency of care, contract continuity or those who serve you every day.
  • The priority is to ensure the same trusted teams and quality of care residents know and rely on, every single day, continue as normal. It is this shared commitment to caring for older Australians that unites us. Over time, as we work together as a combined team, we will share best practice to bring the best of Anglicare’s Rhythm of Life person‑centred approach and Infinite Care and Autumn Care’s resident-focused care, to invest and innovate to provide the highest quality and consistent care to residents.
  • Given Anglicare’s strong capability and mission focus on providing chaplaincy and pastoral care in our homes, we will work together to expand this pastoral model of care into more homes, meaning residents will benefit from expanded chaplaincy and pastoral care support in their homes, if they wish.

What does this mean for the Vision, Mission and Values of Anglicare and Infinite Care?

  • Anglicare’s vision, mission and values remain as they are today: to serve people in need, enrich lives and share the love of Jesus.
  • Infinite Care shares similar values (Compassion, Excellence and Integrity) with Anglicare and both organisations are committed to person-centered aged care, and we will work together to understand the personal and organisational purpose and values that drive us.
  • As a new, expanded residential aged care team, over time the team may develop residential aged care specific purpose statements that align to the group vision, mission and values.

How will communication be managed?

Will there be changes to care models or programs like Anglicare’s Rhythm of Life or Infinite Care’s One Community program?

  • There are no immediate plans to change models of care. The commitment to holistic, person-centred care remains.
  • Over time, teams will listen and learn from each other and residents in order to create new and enhanced models of care to residents.

What about volunteers?

  • Volunteers remain vital. There are no changes to processes, scheduling or local engagement.
  • Building partnerships with Christian churches in QLD, VIC, and SA, will be an early priority, as will connecting with more volunteers in those communities.

What about chaplaincy services?

  • Chaplaincy and spiritual care are core services and a key part of Anglicare’s Christian mission and identity.
  • As part of this, chaplaincy and pastoral care services will be expanded within  Infinite Care’s facilities through local church partnerships.
  • This will provide residents and staff with greater personal, spiritual and wellbeing support, if they wish.

Why not rebrand the entire new entity as ‘Anglicare’?

  • Anglicare Sydney operates its Residential Aged Care Homes within the diocesan boundaries of the Diocese of Sydney.  The Diocese of Sydney operates from Sydney’s north, to the Blue Mountains and south to Nowra.  Likewise, other ‘Anglicares’ across the country operate within other dioceses.  Anglicare Sydney is thereby unable to use the name ‘Anglicare’ in other Diocesan areas.
  • Additionally, Infinite Care has a strong and respected brand and reputation in its operating locations.
  • Sometime following completion of the agreement in 2026, Sydney and NSW Central Coast Infinite Care homes will rebrand to Anglicare. All other Infinite Care homes (including in Tweed Heads), and Autumn Aged Care sites in Vic, will be branded as Infinite Care. This will ensure a clear single brand presence in each local/State market.
  • Signage, uniforms, templates and digital assets will be provided for Sydney and Central Coast Infinite Care-based employees and for Autumn Care employees.

Does Anglicare, as a Christian provider, only have Christian residents or Christian staff?

  • Not at all. Anglicare’s Christian mission centres on the desire to share the love of Jesus with all people.
  • Every person is valuable and deserving of respect, because they are made in the image of God.
  • Anglicare has always served a diverse group of residents, from many different cultural and faith backgrounds including no faith. The same care and respect is shown to all.
  • At Anglicare, every voice is valued.
  • Equally for staff, Anglicare is committed to embracing diversity, promoting equity, and nurturing a culture of belonging—because each person’s unique perspective strengthens our communities.
